About the Ozone Alpina 5

The Ozone Alpina 5 is the lightweight sibling of the Delta 5 — same EN C 2-line platform with folding lines, 65 cells, 6.07 flat aspect ratio — derived from the Lyght and built around an ultralight internal structure pulled from the Zeolite GT development. It is Ozone's lowest-aspect-ratio 2-liner light wing and a natural step up from a high-B for pilots making the move into 2-line technology in a compact, forgiving package.

The weight reduction comes from the inside: a complex internal architecture preserves the same solidity and rigidity as the Delta 5 while dropping sail weight noticeably. That lighter sail makes a real difference on the ground — inflation is faster and easier than on the Delta 5, the wing rises cleanly in nil-wind and does not overshoot in stronger conditions. In the air, less inertia translates into more feel through the brakes, snappier reactions and a touch more agility, while keeping the Delta 5's True Performance and ease-of-use character. The 2-line layout gives direct angle-of-attack control via the C-risers and reduced line drag, with intuitive accelerated control that lets you push speed through turbulence. Span cohesion holds well under load — the wing stays compact even in strong air, which is exactly what you want when handling has to stay responsive in the rough stuff. Big ears can be done with either AR3 (firm pull, very stable once in) or BR3 (easier to initiate, faster to recover). Risers come with adjustable B-handle height for different pilot sizes.

Strengths

  • Lighter sail than the Delta 5 — easier inflation, more agile, more feedback through the brakes
  • Lowest aspect ratio in Ozone's 2-liner light range — most forgiving entry to 2-line tech
  • Internal structure derived from the Zeolite GT — solidity preserved despite the weight cut
  • Holds shape well in turbulence; stays compact in strong air
  • Adjustable B-handle height risers — fits a wide range of pilots
