About the Skywalk Mint

The Skywalk Mint is Skywalk's EN C 2-liner — derived from their X-Alps wing and aimed at experienced XC pilots and competition newcomers. 68 cells, 6.4 flat aspect ratio, six sizes covering 55–125 kg, EN/LTF C certified across the range. Same airfoil and platform as the lightweight Sage; the Mint is the standard-construction sister, slightly heavier (4.30 kg in size 75) but more durable for daily use.

The wing is the standard-cloth take on Skywalk's 2-line C platform, using the same B-steering rear-riser layout to fly accelerated efficiently and stabilise the canopy through the B level without releasing the speed bar — measurably faster across glides without going on full effort. Moderate aspect ratio for a 2-liner is the deliberate positioning: the Mint stays compact and intuitive in handling compared to peer 2-liners, with control pressure that's clearly defined and direct response to brake input. Tension distribution across the canopy was a development focus — the result is a wing that is unusually stable for the class while still giving the air feedback you actually want for thermal flying. Launch behaviour is straightforward, no special technique needed. Climb-wise it cores tight thermals smoothly thanks to the moderate AR, which is a real advantage in windy or strong conditions where peer 2-liners can feel busy. Skywalk's tech stack is present: 2-line layout with B-steering, Rigid Foil nylon wires in the leading edge, mini-ribs at the trailing edge for shape stability, 3D-Shaping at the leading edge to cut wrinkling, and Shark Nose for solid pressure distribution under bar.

Strengths

  • X-Alps-derived 2-line platform brought into a sport-class wing — performance close to higher classes
  • B-steering rear-riser system — efficient AoA control and fatigue-free accelerated flying
  • Moderate AR for a 2-liner — easier to live with than peer 2-line EN C wings
  • Tension distribution gives unusually stable canopy for class while keeping useful air feedback
  • Cores tight thermals smoothly — clear advantage in strong or windy conditions
  • Six sizes covering 55–125 kg — wider range than the Sage with the same airfoil
