Phi Beat 2

The Phi Beat 2 is the long-awaited successor of one of Phi's best-selling wings — 56 cells, 5.31 flat aspect ratio, six sizes covering 55–130 kg, EN/LTF B certified. Positioned by Phi as the brand's "Golden Ratio" — the wing that strikes the balance between EN A-level safety and simplicity, and performance that still satisfies an advanced pilot. Designed by Hannes Papesh.

The outline is the only thing that carries over from the original Beat — pretty much everything else is new. Internal construction was reworked: line suspension points moved, diagonal fingers optimised, V-shaped anchor connection straps, redesigned intake, new sail cut, new rods (now also on the bottom surface), completely different stabilo. On the practical side, only the brake and stabilo lines are sheathed, in bright orange so they stand out from the ground — Phi's explicit choice in line with their philosophy that paragliding should become easier again rather than harder. Take-off is noticeably more forgiving than the original Beat, weight is down, extreme-manoeuvre reactions are tuned cleaner, and handling has been retuned for more agility and clearer feedback. Cleaner surface and revised sail tension drive a measurable performance gain. Cloth is MJ 20D plus Skytex 40. Riser layout is R01 3+1 (PPG risers optional); riser length 500 mm in size 18, 540 mm in larger sizes; speed travel 150–200 mm.
