UP Meru 2
O modelu UP Meru 2
The UP Meru 2 is the second generation of UP's top sport-class 2-liner — 84 cells, 6.9 flat aspect ratio, four sizes covering 78–125 kg, EN/LTF D certified. Designed by UP's chief designer Frantisek "Franta" Pavlousek with the explicit brief of a higher top speed and improved performance over the original Meru while keeping its safety character.
The cell count and AR are deliberately high for the class — driven by performance and stability targets. Construction details: nylon rods at the leading edge plus rods in both upper and lower sails, a reworked internal structure, maximised speed-bar travel, and a sleek profile achieved through a carefully chosen material mix. UP's technology stack on the wing covers MPA (Maximum Performance Airfoils), D3D (Double 3D panel shaping), N3D (Negative 3D panel shaping), MRS (Mini Ribs), FSS / RSS / BSS (Front, Rear, Bottom Surface Support), OLS (Optimised Line Scheme), SOD (Size-Optimised line Dimensions) and BTS (Brake Tension System). 228 total lines including brakes, with total line length scaling from 202 m in S to 225 m in L. Aimed squarely at competition pilots looking to leave the pack behind.
Mocne strony
- Higher top speed than the original Meru with improved performance across the range
- 84-cell, 6.9 AR 2-liner platform — top of the EN D performance bracket
- Rods at leading edge plus upper and lower sails — clean profile retained at speed
- OLS / SOD line scheme — line geometry size-optimised, not just scaled
- 228 lines total — surprisingly low for the class given the cell count
- BTS Brake Tension System — preserves brake feel across the full speed range
