O modelu Ozone Zeno 2

The Ozone Zeno 2 is the long-awaited successor to the original Zeno, which sat at the top of the EN D class for five years before it was replaced. Two seasons of R&D went into keeping what the Zeno was famous for — comfort and ease of use for an EN D — while moving the performance ceiling up. Same 78 cells and 6.9 flat aspect ratio as the original, but with better passive safety on front and side collapses.

The new profile carries more reflex (CM+) and a more rearward cell-opening position, which together drive a noticeably higher top speed, better glide, and improved efficiency across the whole speed range. Trim speed is slightly up; top speed is up by roughly 7 km/h on Ozone's own measurements, putting the Zeno 2 alongside the Enzo 3 in glide and top speed — though they note that the very top of the bar range is really only useful in a competitive final glide. The wing gives a touch more feedback than the Zeno did, but in a way that's easy to read; pilots use it to feel cores and good energy lines. The reworked internal structure makes the wing feel cohesive in thermic turbulence, and the extended development time (a side benefit of the Covid delay) was spent fine-tuning handling — turn response is precise and dynamic, with more agility than the Zeno had. Inflation is excellent for a 2-liner: among the easiest to launch in the class, with the Zeolite as the only obvious peer. Reserved for highly experienced pilots — Ozone explicitly asks for at least 100 hours/year and solid SIV background.

Mocne strony

  • Roughly +7 km/h top speed over the Zeno — matches the Enzo 3 in glide and top speed
  • Improved passive safety on front and side collapses vs. the original Zeno
  • Among the easiest 2-liners to launch — clean inflation in any wind
  • More agile and dynamic handling than the Zeno after extensive fine-tuning
  • Better feedback for finding cores and energy lines, without becoming jumpy
