BGD Diva 2

The BGD Diva 2 is the second generation of BGD's top sport-class 2-liner — 86 cells, 7.0 flat aspect ratio, four sizes covering 75–120 kg, EN/LTF D certified. Born out of BGD's Performance Quest R&D project (the same project that produced the Base 3), with several years of numerical analysis and computational design behind it. Built explicitly to compete with the best EN D wings on the market.

A notable engineering effort went into the small size — BGD ran a dedicated load test and months of trimming with their 60 kg test pilot Tyr Goldsmith, specifically to make sure light pilots get a competitive wing rather than a downscaled compromise (closing the usual performance gap between light and heavy pilots). Handling is fast and responsive across all sizes, with high top speed, excellent glide, and stability across the whole speed range. The defining trait is the B-riser pressure on bar: very light, the result of maximising reflex in the airfoil shape — pilots get the confidence to push full bar in difficult situations because the wing tells them clearly that it's still on profile. Most pilots report not wanting to go back to "normal" B-pressure wings after a few hours on the Diva 2. Despite the EN D rating, BGD describe it as relatively easy to fly for its class — provided the pilot already has the glider-handling skills that match a fast, high-aspect 2-liner.
