Advance Iota DLS

The Advance Iota DLS is the long-XC specialist of Advance's high-B lineup, now built around their Durable Lightweight Structure approach — sub-3.8 kg in size 21 with light risers, but rated for daily use rather than treated as a delicate light wing. EN/LTF B certified across five sizes covering 60–128 kg. Five cells, 5.6 flat aspect ratio, three-line layout with C handles for pitch control.

Pitch stability is the headline trait — the profile holds energy through turbulence, which translates directly to performance in active XC air. Total line surface area is down 4% over the previous Iota, and the leading edge gets the latest 3×3D shaping (Advance's evolution of Double-3D-Shaping) — the result is a wrinkle-free leading edge and a smoother top surface, both small but real performance gains. The C-handle pitch control system transfers C-level inputs directly to the B level, so the wing keeps its profile shape under handle input and still delivers full glide while you steer from the rear risers. Lift distribution and canopy tensioning were retuned for maximum turbulence absorption, giving a damped feel without losing the feedback you actually want from the air. Lines are colour-differentiated Edelrid Pro Dry — the latest evolution of the 8000 Aramid line, with 60% better humidity exclusion, very stable in length, and above-average resistance to failure after long use. Cloth choice is conservative for a light wing: Skytex 38 universal on the leading edge, Skytex 32 universal on the top surface, lighter Skytex 27 classic I on the bottom, and Skytex 40/32 hard finish on profiles, diagonals and tension tapes.
