Skywalk Chili 5
O modelu Skywalk Chili 5
The Skywalk Chili 5 is the fifth generation of Skywalk's flagship high-B XC platform — 57 cells, 5.6 flat aspect ratio, five sizes covering 55–135 kg, LTF/EN B certified. Notable as the first Skywalk EN B intermediate to ship with their SPEED CONTROL rear-riser handle, a feature carried over from higher-class wings to help XC pilots push average speeds.
Most of the change vs. the Chili 4 is in feel rather than aspect ratio: the wing is genuinely intuitive on glide and especially in thermals — the canopy bites into cores, climbs quickly, and gives clean feedback through brake and risers without becoming nervous in active air. Brake response is direct and forces are tuned for thermal and XC flying without going heavy in the brakes after long flights. SPEED CONTROL is the headline performance lever: the rear-riser handle lets the pilot manage angle of attack on bar without releasing the speed bar, which translates straight into higher average speed in active glides and cleaner reactions in turbulence at speed. Construction uses a TX-Light + Dominico 30 DMF cloth mix that is roughly 10% lighter than the Chili 4 sail without giving up robustness or ageing resistance. Internal seams on the mini-ribs improve durability during ground handling and launch prep. The full Skywalk technology stack is present: JET FLAPS to extend the green arc near the stall (better safety + climb), Rigid Foil nylon wires in the leading edge for shape retention, 3D-Shaping at the leading edge to cut wrinkling, mini-ribs at the trailing edge for stability, C-Wires over the C-level anchor points to spread load and cut drag, the Automatic Sand Release System at the trailing edge, and Shark Nose for solid pressure distribution under bar.
Mocne strony
- SPEED CONTROL rear-riser handle — first Skywalk EN B with it; real average-speed gains on bar
- ~10% lighter sail than Chili 4 (TX-Light + Dominico 30 DMF) with no loss in durability
- Bites cleanly into thermals and climbs efficiently — confidence-inspiring core feel
- JET FLAPS extend the green arc near stall — better safety margin plus climb gains
- Strong tech stack: Shark Nose, Rigid Foil, mini-ribs, C-Wires, 3D-Shaping, Auto Sand Release
- Mini-rib internal seams — improved robustness on rough ground and during launch prep
