Gin Explorer 2

The Gin Explorer 2 is the second generation of Gin's lightweight EN B XC wing — 59 cells, 6.07 flat aspect ratio, five sizes covering 55–120 kg, glider weights from 3.2 to 4.1 kg depending on size. The headline trait is climb: refined yet compact handling lets the wing bite into thermals confidently and then settle quickly overhead, with light but progressive brake pressure that gives just enough information to centre cores without becoming jumpy.

Compared to the original Explorer, a slight increase in surface area combined with other aerodynamic refinements puts glide ahead of the predecessor. Pitch stability is the other big upgrade — even on windier launches the wing comes up progressively and waits obediently overhead, and in active air it is more composed than past Explorers. The speed system has been redone: a new smart riser with a control toggle and a Harken pulley makes the bar very smooth to operate, and there's an extra 2 cm of speed-bar travel for a slightly higher max speed than before. Construction uses Nitinol (nickel–titanium) rods, which keep pack volume down, hold a clean top surface and shave weight. Optional 4 mm Dyneema riser available alongside the standard riser.
