Advance Axess 5

The Advance Axess 5 is Advance's classic beginner / allround seatboard harness, refreshed for its fifth generation: simpler, more compact, more protected. Three sizes covering 155–202 cm pilot height, weights from 4.0 to 4.4 kg, EN & NfL certified to 120 kg max load. Honeycomb PP seatboard, removable Air-Foam Hybrid Protector and SAS-TEC panels at the sides and full length of the back.

The protection system is the headline change vs. older Axess generations. The main protector is the Air-Foam Hybrid model originally developed for the Axess 2 — foam-ribbed inside, self-inflates within about 60 seconds when the rucksack is reversed into harness mode, and is fully ready before any take-off attempt. Three visco-elastic SAS-TEC panels — one on each side, one running up the entire back — protect pelvis and spine up to the neck against impacts and pointed obstructions. SAS-TEC components are individually replaceable. The Honeycomb PP seatboard combines a stiff structural platform with low weight, and the back section folds snugly to the seatboard for packing — total packed volume comes out unusually small for a fully-equipped seatboard harness, especially since the Air-Foam Hybrid Protector compresses when squeezed inside the glider rucksack. The Balance Strap System makes the transition into the seated position automatic after take-off and back to standing before landing — important on a beginner-friendly harness where pilots are still learning to manage their weight in the seat. Closure uses Advance's Safe-T-buckle System with AustriAlpin Cobra hardware.
