Air Design Susi 3

The Air Design Susi 3 is a single platform that switches identity by size and wing loading — 34 cells, 4.85 flat aspect ratio, five sizes from 13 to 23 m², total certified take-off weight band from 50 to 122 kg. The "Super Simple" concept: pick a smaller size for high-wind beach soaring (mini-wing or EN C / D feel), or go up a size for a low-mid EN B all-rounder. Best-selling Air Design glider in France.

Sizes 16, 18 and 21 carry dual certifications — EN B at lower wing loading, EN C at higher loading — letting pilots load the wing for the conditions they're flying. Size 13 is mini-wing-only EN D, size 23 is EN B only. The 23 m² is described by reviewers as a proper EN B all-rounder: complete-feeling, climbs well in light lift, lands cleanly and handles turbulence with normal active piloting. Construction is light but robust by ultralight-class standards: bootlace risers paired with sheathed lines (most ultralights run unsheathed), so the wing stays usable on rocky ground without the typical lightweight fragility. Sub-2 kg in the 13 m² size, 2.81 kg in the 23 m² — packs into a sub-6 kg total kit with a light harness and helmet.
