Advance Pi ULS

The Advance Pi ULS is the fourth generation of the long-running Pi line — a single platform that switches identity by size and wing loading: thermal wing, hike & fly glider, or mini-wing. Seven sizes from 14 to 26 m², 38 cells, 4.5 flat aspect ratio. New size 14 brings the lightest entry yet at 1.65 kg with ultralight risers. Internal structure pulled directly from the OMEGA ULS racing platform.

The wing's use case shifts with projected wing loading: up to 4.5 kg/m² it sits in the thermal range with high passive safety, suitable for beginners and leisure pilots; 4.5–5 kg/m² is the hike & fly band — light walk-up, dynamic descent; above 5 kg/m² it becomes a proper mini-wing, demanding the active piloting skill that small wings require, and well-suited to climb & fly missions. Certifications shift with size and weight loading, with sizes 16 and 18 reaching EN C and EN B respectively at full loading, and the smallest size 14 only certified EN D as a mini wing. Ultra Lightweight Structure pulls from the X-Alps-evolved OMEGA ULS platform — Sliced Diagonals, the maximum-possible micro cross-port rib cut-outs, and Nitinol rod chordwise distribution from leading edge across the top surface for low pack volume and shape retention under loading. Cloth choice is racing-light: Skytex 27 classic II top surface and Dominico DOKDO 10 lower surface (sizes 20–26), with the smaller sizes 14/16/18 using DOKDO 10 across all surfaces. Lines are colour-coded Edelrid Pro Dry — 60% better water repellency, length-stable. Holding-pin loops on the leading edge let you peg the wing on snow or steep ground (Advance recommend eco-friendly golf tees); pins are not included. Sizes 14/16/18 can take ultralight Dyneema-cover risers; 14 ships with them as standard.
