Apco Kitto

The Apco Kitto is a lightweight seat-board-free pod harness — sub-2.6 kg, hammock-style support, with an airfoam + lexan back protector unique to Apco. The name is from Japanese きっと ("certainty" / "without fail"). Designed to give the feedback of a seat-board harness with the weight savings and body conformance of a hammock.

The defining design choice is the seat-board-free hammock geometry: webbing and lines from the sides of the hammock connect to the carabiners for lumbar and seat support, while the airfoam protector adds a semi-rigid base under the seat — the combination keeps the wing's feedback talkative the way a seat-board harness does, without the weight or compression of one. Geometry is tuned so most pilots use the factory-default secondary support lines without further adjustment. Speed-system pulley placement is specifically engineered to prevent harness pitch when bar is applied — a real comfort win on glide. Pod uses PU-coated lycra (same cloth as the Swift Sport and Zero harnesses) — highly elastic for a wrinkle-free profile, and windproof for warmth at altitude. Reserve container and bridle live in a dedicated zip-closed channel that keeps the harness profile clean and gives a fast, low-friction deployment. Footplate is Polycomb (polycarbonate honeycomb) — light but durable. Reversible for transport: the harness can pack into its own rear storage compartment to fit cleanly into a small bag like Apco's Light Backpack 80. Three-step speed bar pre-installed, foot bungee for in-flight entry, compatibility with the Flight Deck Lite cockpit. The platform is described by Apco as having no tendency to drop radically to one side under asymmetric loading or to twist easily — confidence-building for pilots progressing into pod harnesses.
