Gin Genie Race 5

The Gin Genie Race 5 is Gin's flagship inflatable racing pod harness — wind-tunnel-developed in the GIN LAB project with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, evolving the well-proven Genie Race 4 geometry. EN/LTF/CE certified, five sizes covering pilot heights from under 160 cm up to 200 cm. Geometry stays stable in climbs and on glide without finicky trim adjustments, and the harness does not flap or flutter at trim speed — a measurable performance gain on its own.

The 2025 update is mostly under the skin and at the edges. The aerocone is slightly taller, aligning more closely with the top of the pilot's head. The cord-operated zipper is gone — replaced with a magnetic closing system that opens and closes like a classic cocoon, much faster in and out. The footplate enclosure uses a more robust fabric, the speed line gets a 40 mm Ronstan ratchet pulley with easy-attach, the asymmetric speed bar is rebuilt with more durable materials and a wider third step. New left-chest pocket with a G-chute attachment, a secondary cockpit pocket under the main panel housing a hook knife, zip compartment and battery space, with the zipper repositioned for in-flight access. The nose section is now foam-shaped and reinforced with more durable fabric to handle scrapes during ground movement on take-off. Back protection is a 9 cm Koroyd panel — thicker than minimum cert requires, contributing to the harness structure and keeping the profile low. Skin fabric is heat-resistant with some breathability, which helps on long fully-enclosed climbs in summer. New skin can be retrofitted to original Genie Race 5 owners — full upgrade does not require a new harness.
