Skywalk Range X-Alps 3

The Skywalk Range X-Alps 3 is the third generation of Skywalk's ultralight XC pod harness — three sizes covering 160–200 cm pilot height, weights from 1.95 to 2.10 kg, EN 1651/2018 certified to 120 kg max load. Refined directly from X-Alps athlete feedback and from RANGE X-ALPS 2 owners. The headline differentiator vs. other ultralights is the PERMAIR 2.0 air-pressure-based protector — combining airbag-class pack volume and weight with full-time foam-class shape and protection.

The seat geometry was designed around feedback from X-Alps athletes and previous-generation owners and supports both reclined and upright flying — adjustable mid-flight, so you can fly relaxed when conditions allow and sit upright the moment things get rough. Power Frame distributes load homogeneously across the seat shell, eliminating pressure points on long flights, and the sandwich seat shell uses a closed-cell foam that adds thermal insulation as well as comfort. Aerodynamics: the ram-pressure rear fairing inflates from incoming air and recombines flow behind the pilot, with optional stabilisers extending longitudinal stability for high-performance flying. Storage is serious for an ultralight: front rescue/cockpit (V-line suspended from the shoulders, instruments in pilot field of view), cockpit pocket sized for a power bank and reserve-chute line, hydration-bladder mount in the back compartment with the tube routed to the shoulder strap. RECCO reflector is built in for rescue location in dense terrain. Optional DESK accessory adds an integrated cockpit pocket on the shoulder/front-container straps with battery cable outlet and removable instrument plate. PERMAIR 2.0 protector itself is a meaningful step up: an inflate/deflate check valve simplifies pressurisation, and you can fill via inflation bag, PERMAIR PUMP (optional 150 g electric pump that doubles as a 3600 mAh power bank), or just the mouthpiece in minimalist mode. Compared with foam (durable but heavy/bulky) or airbag (light but non-permanent and shape-poor), PERMAIR keeps weight and pack size close to airbag while delivering full-time shape, permanent inflation, and damage that's easy to spot.
