Skywalk Mescal 7

The Skywalk Mescal 7 is the latest generation of Skywalk's long-running EN A school wing — 40 cells, 4.8 flat aspect ratio, six sizes covering 55–135 kg, LTF/EN A certified. Built around balanced, forgiving handling for new pilots while bringing in details usually reserved for higher classes — mini-ribs at the trailing edge and precisely positioned winglets — that lift the segment without changing the basic character.

The big design effort on this generation went into making the wing harder to upset: pronounced roll and pitch stability, precise and clearly defined responses across all flight phases, and noticeably increased safety reserves over the Mescal 6. The winglets specifically improve spiral stability and add a smoother, steadier feel, while the 40-cell trailing-edge mini-rib detail gives better shape stability and quieter aerodynamics than typical EN A school wings carry. Inflation is easy, brake feel is pleasantly linear, and the safety reserves are large enough that the wing forgives the small input errors learning pilots make — without being so dampened it stops conveying useful information from the air. Skywalk's technology stack is present: JET FLAPS to extend the green arc near the stall, Rigid Foil nylon wires in the leading edge for shape retention, 3D-Shaping at the leading edge to cut wrinkling, C-Wires over the C-line anchor points to spread load, Shark Nose for solid pressure distribution under bar, the Smart Link System (red/blue riser seams) to make hook-in errors much harder to make, and the Sand Release System 2.0 at the trailing edge for cleaner long-term sail life.
