The double plus stands for the second modification stage of the classic. The Everest is one of the lightest full-size paragliders in the world. The wing has a huge fan base, as this lightweight wonder also impresses with its outstanding gliding and climbing characteristics. The wing is designed for tough alpine use, but has been deliberately designed for everyday use. A few extra grams of weight have been accepted in favor of optimum durability. True to the motto of “making the best even better”, the new EVEREST+ version outdoes itself and is in a class of its own. Of course, the aim of the upgrade was not only to maintain the basic characteristics, but also to improve them – which has definitely been achieved with the double plus: the canopy is now even more compact and works less than the plus and remains calm even in turbulent conditions. However, if pressure equalization is required, the extremely lightweight canopy opens quickly yet smoothly. In addition, the wing hardly turns at all, even with heavy rattling, which is a particular safety advantage when flying close to rocks in the Alps. What remains is the fine and direct handling with short control travel and precise reactions of the wing, which is easy to turn. But there is also a double plus in terms of take-off characteristics. The lightweight canopy climbs easily to the pilot’s zenith even in zero wind and offers absolutely easy take-off behavior, even in demanding alpine conditions.
